As this is still in the working stages there is an issue with latency between the controls and the game. But if this is any indication as to how Sony plans to expand the features of Remote Play, then count me in. More footage of games including Red Dead Redemption, and Batman Arkham City can be seen playing friendly with the feature as well. On Homer49's Youtube page.

The Vita has been out for less than two months, and hackers were able to get it working nice with PlayStation custom firmware 3.55. The hack tricks the PlayStation 3 into believing the vita is a mobile device, which allows the Vita to take full advantage of the Remote Play feature. In turn allowing the user to play full PlayStation 3 games, provided you have a high enough bandwidth connection. When Apple said it would be taking the iPad to new heights, I bet they didn't mean space. The Rhode Island based company G-Form, noted for it's rugged electronic cases and aesthetic pads wanted to demonstrate how rugged it's latest case, the Extreme Edge was. Encased inside was an innocent iPad 2, also mounted to the case was a high-definition camera, all of it was attached it to a high altitude weather balloon and released into the atmosphere. Once the iPad reached 100,000 feet (or 30,480 meters) in height, the balloon bursts and the iPad is sent crashing down toward our planet at speed. The high-def video tracks the decent of the iPad's free fall all the way to the moment of impact, in the deserts of Nevada. Once it was recovered, the iPad was found to be undamaged and still playing the video that was started at liftoff.
The video of the fall can be found here. The X Prize Foundation and Qualcomm Foundation today announced the launch of the $10M Qualcomm Tricorder X Prize, a global competition to revolutionize healthcare. In this competition, teams will leverage technology innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence and wireless sensing — much like the medical Tricorder of Star Trek fame — to make medical diagnoses independent of a physician or healthcare provider. The goal of the competition is to drive development of devices that will give consumers access to their state of health in the palm of their hand. The $10 million prize purses will be awarded to the team that develops a mobile platform that most accurately diagnoses a set of 15 diseases across 30 consumers in three days. Teams must also deliver this information in a way that provides a compelling consumer experience while capturing real time, critical health metrics such as blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature. The winning solutions will enable consumers in any location to quickly and effectively assess health conditions, determine if they need professional help and answer the question “What do I do next?” when it comes to their health. The system will diagnose diseases, measure vital signs, and assess health state (both sickness and wellness) through single point-in-time as well as ongoing measurement. |
